Robert Evans, Ed.D.,
Executive Director
Robert
Evans, the Executive Director of HRS, is a clinical
and organizational psychologist who has served at
HRS since 1974. A former high school and pre-school
teacher, and a former child and family therapist,
he has worked with families and schools for 30 years.
He has consulted to nearly a thousand schools and
districts around the country, working with teachers,
administrators, boards, and parents.
He appears at many state, regional,
and national conferences of educators and has spoken
to hundreds of parent audiences. His presentations
are known for their lively wit and plain talk.
Rob’s research interests have
focussed on the challenge of leading change in schools
and on changes in the family and in the home-school
relationship. He is the author of many articles and
two books, Family Matters: How Schools Can Cope
with The Crisis in Childrearing, and The
Human Side of School Change.
